For each trip, one prepares, consults a guidebook, and chooses what to pack and which route to follow.
Apego became, at the beginning of the last decade of the last century, wholly owned by the Montagna family. A reference point in the high-tech sector of footwear molds, it has for many years counted among its customers the most important national and international companies.
Apego found a home in Cilavegna (in the province of Pavia), successfully entered the Vigevano area and immediately specialized in the footwear sector, making steel and aluminum molds for compression rubber.

1970
At that time, Apego began to make its way in the industry by working with materials such as PVC and TR, which allowed more complex shapes to be molded with the help of innovative techniques and thanks to electroforming machinery that enabled finishes that were unthinkable at the time.
At this juncture, boots are absolute protagonists, and their boom allows Apego to expand and devote an entire division to their production, also with a view to work differentiation. Apego's innovative nature emerges, thanks to the spirit of research that animates the founder: the possibilities of many new materials are investigated, such as vulcanized rubbers and the first thermoplastics, including PVC and TR.

1990
The time leading up to the end of the millennium sees the introduction of new polyurethane materials, and injection, in addition to the sole, is extended to the upper. Investments in new numerical control machines, 3- and 5-axis, continue, and market demands evolve: no longer are molds sought by casting, but obtained directly from the blank. Apego understands that innovation will come through the introduction of 3D modeling and design equipment. CAD/CAM is poised to play a leading role.
Investments in this direction continued after 2000, when additional and important resources were allocated to new 5-axis machinery and the expansion of the CAD office. Since then, the company has been offering the concept of rapid prototyping to its customers, and once again the spectrum of materials in its catalog is expanded: the first molds for slippers, sandals, and clogs are made from EVA, and it enters the field of ski boots and complex uppers and all-plastic shoes more firmly.

TODAY
In addition to the Montagna family, about forty people are employed in the company. Highly skilled employees and advanced technologies represent the perfect partnership that enables the company to interact with its customers during all stages of mold making, from design development to manufacture, and to provide a complete service: consulting, CAD/CAM design, rapid prototyping, CNC machining, and mold testing.
Apego, today, exports about 85 percent of its production to more than 30 countries. Mainly Europe, North, Central and South America, Asia and the Pacific. It has a loyal customer base thanks to a corporate philosophy that preaches scrupulous attention to every single detail.
